RECIPROCITY PROCEDURES

In Georgia, only the ICPS credential is eligible for reciprocity to and from other jurisdictions.  Following is a brief overview of the outgoing and incoming reciprocity processes. For a more in-depth discussion about reciprocity, review Section 5. Reciprocity in the PCCG Application Manual.

For Outgoing Reciprocity:

Only Georgia preventionists credentialed by PCCG at the ICPS level are eligible for reciprocity in other states and jurisdictions also affiliated with IC&RC.  If you plan on moving to another state, you should first check the IC&RC website to determine whether there is a Member Board that offers the IC&RC Prevention Specialist credential.  If so, contact the new Member Board to find out whether there are additional requirements you must meet prior to applying for reciprocity.

Once you know you are eligible for reciprocity in the new jurisdiction, contact PCCG at pccginfo@gmail.com  to request the Application for Reciprocity.  Once you complete the Application for Reciprocity and submit your payment to IC&RC using the linked payment portal, return the application to PCCG. Save a copy for your records. PCCG will verify your application and send it to IC&RC.  IC&RC will process the application and notify the requested board that will then notify you.

For Incoming Reciprocity:

Candidates seeking reciprocity in Georgia must apply through their current state’s prevention credentialing board and IC&RC. Contact your current IC&RC member board and ask for an Application for Reciprocity. To find out whether there are requirements you must meet for the reciprocal credential in Georgia, contact PCCG at pccginfo@gmail.com. After you complete the Application for Reciprocity and submit your payment using the linked payment portal, you will submit your application to your current board. Save a copy for your records. Your current board will verify your application and send it to IC&RC. IC&RC will process your application and send it to the member board (PCCG) in your new jurisdiction (Georgia).  Reciprocity Approval Notification MUST be received by PCCG from IC&RC. Upon receipt of Reciprocity Approval Notification, PCCG will issue a certificate or notice of acceptance to the applicant.  Prevention Specialists in Georgia must recertify every two years.
